Dear Market Participants,

Following the Participant call yesterday morning, some points below provide clarity around some of the issues raised.

Back up prices:

A number of back up prices have been published over the last week. This is a result of a time out issue in the workflow. The issue has been escalated with ABB and we are awaiting confirmation of a date to implement a fix. The fix is likely to require a code release. The estimated timeline for the code release is December. Further clarity can be provided towards the middle of next week.

Release D deployment & Repricing:

Release D is being deployed into production on the 15th of October. Release D contains the Repricing functionality, in addition to fixes for defects in Settlements, reporting fixes, and a system separation function deemed essential for Brexit.

The functionality for Repricing must be deployed regardless of what option is chosen by the Regulatory Authorities as part of their Consultation. While the functionality will be deployed, it does not mean SEMO will commence Repricing. Repricing will not commence until the RA decision has been published and SEMO are ready to proceed.

As previously detailed at the MOUG, while the functionality will be deployed next Tuesday, SEMO will continue with the analysis of the pricing outputs until mid-November. These outputs will not be published. If SEMO are satisfied with the Pricing outputs post the analysis period, Repricing will commence. This all forms part of the overarching test plan detailed previously.

To that point however, SEMO has recently (end of last week) found an issue with some outputs from the Repricing solution, resulting in failed UAT testing. The issues have been escalated to ABB for an immediate fix. Given the need for the other functions that Release D provides (for Settlements and system separation), the deployment of the release is going ahead as planned, with the fix for the issues identified following as soon as possible afterwards. As Repricing is standalone, the issues identified will have no impact on any other functions. At this stage, SEMO don’t anticipate the timelines to be impacted too greatly. Further information will be provided on timelines once more detail is available.

Recertification:

SEMO do intend to recertify however this will take some time. The intention would be to align recertification with Release E next year, if possible.

Kind regards,

SEMO Trading Operations
