Dear Market Participant,

This notice relates to those Market Participants who interact with the Balancing Market Interface for SEMO and MMS environments via Type 3 communication.

Headline

Effective immediately, Market Participants must update the server certificate for continued access to the SEMO Balancing Market for Type 3 Communications.

The URL for https://mms.sem-o.com/mpi & https://mms.sem-o.com/mws will be renewed on Thursday, 29th November 2018.

Background

A mandatory renewal of the SEMO Balancing Market URL cert has been impacted by the rebranding of the cert name from VeriSign to DigiCert.  This renewal will have an impact on Type 3 communication to the SEMO Balancing Market environment with participants receiving the following error:

Exception: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

To resume Type 3 communication SEMO Balancing Market Environment environment, Market Participants will be required to update the relevant files in the Toolkit Directory saved locally and / or their own application used for communicating with the market system via Type 3.

MPI users should remain unaffected by this change as the DigiCert RCA/ICA is internet facing and IE browsers should already contain this.

The intermediate/Root CA is available upon request if required.

Please let us know if further clarification is required.

Kind regards,

ISEM Support Team
